House Lesedi is a Temporary Safe Care Home for babies between the ages of birth and 3 years. The house opened in 2006 through the uMephi project and provides a safe, healthy, loving and caring environment for 6 babies every day. We are currently limited to 6 babies due to lack of funding. The babies are admitted to the home through the Children’s Court as they are all either abandoned, abused, orphaned or born from a mother who cannot care for them. They stay in House Lesedi until they can be reunited with their mothers or, where that is not possible, adopted by loving families. The House has a full-time house Mother and four full-time childcare workers.

Doxa Deo Hartbeespoort Campus manages the House and is responsible to provide funding for worker salaries and all operating costs. To date, more than 100 babies have been placed with forever families or had their destiny changed, ensuring a future they may otherwise not have had.

You can get involved in more than one way: Financially, by donating goods, and/or time.
